The new CD 306 SACD player from North Carolina-based Cary Audio incorporates the latest technologies and engineering concepts to deliver the most up-to-date listening experience available for home consumption. The player employs eight Burr Brown 1792u D/A converters running in parallel pairs, an SCD 1 digital drive, four power transformers that drive separate circuits, and the option of XLR, RCA and Toslink inputs and outputs to allow homeowners to process signals from digital-cable boxes or an iPod. Moreover, the CD 306 SACD player upsamples a CD's 16-bit/44kHz-bit rate and sampling frequency to levels as high as 24 bits/768kHz.
