The new DVD 47 from Harman Kardon can play back DVD-Video, DVD-Audio (DVD-A), CDs, Super Audio CDs (SACD) and Kodak's Picture CDs. The DVD 47 is capable of outputing the latest digital video signal, HDMI to allow owners of video displays equipped with HDMI inputs to view an all-digital image. The unit is also capable of improving the video quality of DVDs through the use of its video-scaling technologies, which remove noise and flicker from the picture. Harman also incorporates into the DVD 47 the ability for its owners to update the player's software and firmware as newer technologies are released to the market. The player is compatible with today's other digital media formats, such as MP3, WMA, as well as JPEGs. -- Robert Archer
