XRT16 Floorstanding Loudspeakers From McIntosh Laboratory

Speakers can Handle Lots of Power: The latest loudspeaker product from New York-based McIntosh Laboratory is the new XRT16 floorstanding loudspeaker. The tall and slender loudspeaker is rated to handle up to 600 watts of power, and it employs a multidriver array of tweeters, midrange units and woofers to provide users with a full-range loudspeaker that can be used for music and home theater. The audiophile-influenced speakers also incorporate three pairs of binding posts to allow users to bi-wire or bi-amp the speakers, and the company packages wiring hardware that can be used in the event that the speakers are powered by a single amplifier. The speaker is available in a choice of trims, including black knot cloth with champagne gold trim, red cherry, natural cherry or black ash. -- Robert Archer
